I’ve had the honor and privelege of working with Peter Levine and the Somatic Experiencing community for 10 years, educating and advising about Smovey Rings and providing them for purchase.
As many of you know, I’ve had Parkinson's for 10 years and although still doing remarkably well, the time feels right to retire from both my SE/psychotherapy practice and as your SE Smovey Rep!
I will continue to be a consultant for Smovey North America and available to respond to your questions. Please feel free to contact me about Smovey Rings related to Somatic Experiencing or about exercise for Parkinsons and general well being. You can message me directly by clicking the button below.
Wishing you all my best, Ilene
Smovey North America is the only source in the U.S. to purchase Smovey Rings and will provide a discount for the SE community. Please note that Amazon currently does not carry the Classic or Neurovibe which are the ones used by Peter Levine & the SE community. Smovey North America sells all products through the ZFIT Shop and they are in the midst of revising the ordering process to be more user friendly. Follow these directions:
On the Smovey North America website you will see 5 dfferent models. The ones we have used in Somatic Experiencing are the first category (Classic Smovey Rings) and the last category (Neurovibe Smovey RIngs). The Classic Smovey Rings now come in many very nice colors (in addition to the green and turquoise I have sold).
If you should decide to order from Amazon, be aware that the above two models I carried are currently not featured. Amazon currently sells the Power and Aqua models. The differences between all of them are subtle - remember Smovey Rings were designed to be exercise tools as opposed to the SE use of them.
I have been selling both the Neurovibe classic (adult) size and a smaller, lighter size as well the Classic Smovey Rings. The new NeuroVIBE rings have a slightly more intense vibration and a new damping system which allows for a somewhat smoother, easier swing. The classic rings are fairly similar and not a bad choice at all. However, If you are buying two sets to work with clients, you might consider getting one of each model. With two sets that feel different, it becomes part of the curiosity or intrigue to see which they like better. Peter Levine and I have had several conversations about this and we agree the variety is good, though you can’t go wrong with two of the same!
